I think many of us have been waiting for this to finally happen. Two male fashion enthusiast/models here killin' it together in one shoot. It was great to catch up with Brent as he got me to model for his online clothing website (www.pormada.com) shooting 40 layouts in a span of 3 hours. It was really a perfect collaboration. I actually have a lot of respect working with Brent because he already has an idea with creative direction from his long-time modeling experiences. We were also able to bounce back and forth different ideas and concepts that made the shoot even more interesting.

Knowing Brent for quite some time now, he was happy and willing to give a lending hand when I asked him to be part of today's blog post. It wasn't really anything serious as you can see, but it was great it included him just so I can change it up a little... I'm honestly sick of looking at myself so it was great to be able to not focus on me for the first time.

For a rather chilled week, I've managed to find myself on an adventure throughout the most odd places with the most odd people - that being my close mates Kit Thompson and Roy Requejo. From random trips to Pampanga and Laguna, this week has been nothing but "spontaneous" with the boys. But for those who follow my blog on a daily basis, would already know thats my persona, hence why I'm spontaneously back on the rooftops doing my thing. Actually for me, seeing myself back on the rooftop again means I'm back in business.

For a guy, a backpack is the handbag of mens fashion. People who are always on the move like me, rely on backpacks to carry everything from point A to point B. Whether it be my camera, laptop, charger, hats, clothes, shoes, food, you name it - I'll always rely on a quality backpack that never lets me down... Especially when I come off my longboard. 

When I recently got in contact with newly opened BREE Philippines, they were kind enough to invite me to the latest store opening located by the new East Wing of Edsa Shangri La. At first, I honestly thought I was walking into a boutique store, a somewhat similar feeling like I got the first time I entered Louis Vuitton as a kid. It was cool and I was happily welcomed by the kind staff followed by a quick introduction about the products available. Believe it or not, their products weren't expensive like I had imaged them to be! Very affordable. 

For me when I acquire a backpack, I want my bag to last me for a very long time and I'm sure that's what everyone wants also. There's definitely no going wrong when I say that the quality of these bags are immaculate and especially when they're optional water resistant. So I'll now no longer have to worry about my laptop when it rains, unless I get pushed into a pool. Check them out and see for yourself!

"Where's your will to be weird?" is a famous quote by none other than the weirdest man who ever lived, Jim Morrison, frontman of The Doors.

Ever since being introduced to The Doors at a young age, it's only until now that I've actually learnt to appreciate the philosophy of Jim Morrison. A weird man he was, Jim was a well respected human being for being true to himself. He lived a life of no shame, nor regret and was able to turn his life around by doing what he loved to do.

Unfortunately these days, it can be a little hard to live a lifestyle like his, with the amount of pressure surrounding us to succeed in life. We also have to accept that there are only few like Jim Morrison who naturally has a tendency to make things go his way. But every time I look up to any of my idols whether it be Jim Morrison, Bruce Lee or even my very own father, the lesson to be learnt is that nothing is ever free in life. If you want it, you have to go get it yourself.

Haha.. Yeah, we have all been told this at one stage but really has the message ever sunk in? Life is weird itself so you can't expect things to magically go your way. But if you want something in life so bad, you really, really have to feel it, vision it and achieve it on your own. When you do, It won't matter what anyone else says because at least you have proven to yourself that you are independent to do things on your own. So even if you fuck up occasionally, don't give in, take a breath, get your head back up high and make something of your life… Give purpose to your life.

Nothing feels worse than the cringe of having lack of sleep. I’m not sure if it’s just me still adjusting to the lifestyle of Manila, or it’s just me in general, but this week has been quite the struggle already. The fact that I’m keeping myself active is the most important thing. Haha I’ll admit it, I’m not the early morning type when it comes to waking up 7am to go to work, as I honestly find myself to be most productive and alert at night time. So for the first time when I made the effort to go to Jing Monis Salon in preparation for a long day, I was well and truly taken by surprised the moment I stepped foot on the MRT Train. It was trippy in a way. Everyone was well-dressed in their corporate attire, people flashing out their iPhone 5’s checking Instagram and I even counted more than a handful of foreigners using the train. I guess I just found it ironic that Manila is not only just a party town I took it to be when I first arrived.

Well believe it or not, I ended up having a great chat with my new friend Bryan who’s also captured in today’s post... Believe it or not, we’re both Australian-Filipinos from the same city back home, with the same mutual friends! So we definitely kicked it off pretty well. Bryan’s here till July so I’ll definitely make the effort to show him around help make the most of his time. The lucky guy's moving to the Fort so I’m looking forward to livin’ it up on his huge penthouse balcony from what I’ve envisioned through our conversation... Just shows you what surprises might come in store when you try something different. Lesson learnt.

Finally it feels great to be back in business. Since returning back to Manila work has been non stop for me, and I swear things pick up just as fast as this weather's picking up this season. Upon my arrival, I've been here working part-time for Jing Monis Salon as their graphic designer & I.T. coordinator while I continue with modeling and my endeavors to learn Tagalog. It's honestly been an awesome experience and for once I honestly know what it's like now to actually enjoy going to work. Hence the longboard... Ahh yes the infamous longboard has worked wonders for me getting by here in Manila as I'm the frustrated type when it comes to peak-hour traffic. So this is what I've been kitted-up in to cope with the mildly-warm temperatures - loose tee's, chino's and my wannabe trademark Comme Des Fuck Down snapback cap. Yeah I'll admit it's getting over-worn already but fuck, it's a dope hat.

For what's  noted as my last  post in Australia, is  just the beginning for what's yet to come in Manila. Transiting
in Brunei International Airport upon waiting for the next flight, my mind's pacing at sixty frames a second as I'm 
finding myself  so eager to return back to Manila. Exciting as it may seem, I'm not there for the party, stuff that, 
I'm coming back to step up my game because I actually wanna make something of my life. I could say being back 
in Australia had felt like I was taking  two steps back but on the flip side, I've  never been so keen hunger driven 
to finish off what I've started. So keen.

Welcome To the Jungle

As of lately, I’ve found myself meeting lots of new people in Australia and adventuring places I'd usually skip. This has truly opened my mind to new and exciting activities in which my camera and friend Khai, is always there to document. After hanging with some friends and playing Xbox, Khai had planned to take me to some deserted car parks downtown for downhill skateboarding, and I must a note that a 9 level car park with an elevator taking us all the way to the top made it all worth it when we came back down.

The eerie feeling of a desolate car park can really place upon you, and open your chain of thoughts with a surreal feel. As I skated down the dim lit empty car park with the wind effortlessly waving all my attire and hair, the mood was instantly set. A combination of mismatched fluro lights with a scent of grit, made for amazing lighting that neither of us had really utilized in the past.
